ABOUT US

IRS STATUS: Gleam of Hope is an active 501c3.

We are a small group of caring Christian missionaries dedicated to giving a helping hand to the physically, spiritually and academically disadvantaged orphans and abandoned children in Haiti.

Founded by Monette Dupiche who immigrated to the U.S. along with her husband and 4 kids to escape the political and economic turmoil of Haiti, Gleam of Hope is the result of her incredible kindness and drive to bring a positive change in the lives of as many Haitian kids as possible.

Our History

Upon returning to Haiti in 2005, after immigrating to the USA in search of better education and stability in the 1980’s, Monette was overwhelmed by the extent of poverty and misery in her home town. Seized with the burning desire to help, she founded the Gleam of Hope Ministry, which in 2011 received IRS tax exempt status.

Located in the small village of Petit-Goave, GOH provides education to 42 children, who otherwise would have been subjected to an uncertain future.

Monette Dupiche

Founder

Monette quit her home nurse job and became a full time missionary in the US. Her passion is evangelism and an immeasurable love for children.

  What We Do

The Gleam of Hope ministry consists of 4 main components:

  1.     GOH Housing Project.
  2.     GOH Education Project.
  3.     GOH Water Treatment Project.
  4.     GOH Bible Fellowship Project.

GOH Housing/Orphanage Project  – Unlike most operating orphanages/ministries that provides temporary shelter to children and families, our approach is to build a safe haven, a home based schooling environment whereby the children can feel they are in a family community.

GOH Education Project – Nurture their growth and expand their mind through free education, to as many unfortunate children of Petit-Goave as possible.

GOH Water Treatment Project –  Access to clean water lowers the risk of disease among children/adults and also encourages children to attend school regularly. Our initiative for this year is to partner with other organization for access to water treatment products. Discussion for building of a well is also in the plan.

GOH Bible Fellowship Project - Share the Gospel, Conform to Christ's image, help families build a relationship with the Almighty and prepare them for service in the ministry.

  Our Goals

From the beginning our goals have been to educate and groom the poor children of Haiti, so that they can become the bringers of change for their country. As devout Christian missionaries, we are fulfilling our duty to the Lord by helping the needy.

Here’s how we are doing it in Haiti:

  1. Complete the construction of an orphanage and use it as a safe haven to those in need.
  2. Feed the hungry.
  3. Provide children with no-cost school (reading, writing, basic math and other subjects).
  4. Share Christ's love through Discipleship and Fellowship.
  5. Expand education opportunity to a community that lacks the opportunity.
  6. Train and empower the locals by promoting best practice.
